Thanks for that, Dave. I just love Lennert Green. His magic is just soooo impossible and he comes across as a bumbler that somehow finds a way to make good and succeeds despite overwhelming odds. He brings out the "empathy of the common man" who relate to him and, seeing him as "one of them" wanting him to succeed. What a consumate artist.

I cannot get this to open after I download the file. It is a huge 109 meg and it has an .mp4 file extension. I don't know why TED provides for a download when the resulting download cannot be opened and played.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this to play, please post said suggestions here.

Thanks,

Mike

I downloaded it and unzipped it, and then I played it with QuickTime Player.

I must admit that mp4 file extensions are a nuisance (for me). Some of them will play only with certain players, some only with other players. I have no idea why.

Thanks, Dave.

I don't have Quicktime or Real One installed on my computer. Too many fights with Windows Media Player as each tries to be the default player, etc.

Thanks again. I appreciate the info.

I used to have my PC configured for which player was used for which file type.

But because of the hassle with mp4 files, I have WMP player as the default for mpg/wmv/avi, Quick Time for mov, Real Player for rm/ram, and for mp4 files I select Quick Time or whatever I need on a per-file basis.

When I try to play this Lennart Green mp4 using WMP, I get the audio but no video (except a swirly background).

I received a Zune MP3 player for Christmas (2007) and finally got around to opening it up this January. (O.K. So I was intimidated by the damn thing and no insturction book included).

By happy coincidence, the TED series is podcast for the Zune via download on the Zune site and I was able to download Lennart's performance and about 25 other TED presentations onto the Zune. Between that and the numerous books on tape I installed, and the many music albums I installed, I was really set for my recent trip to Reno, NEV for our annual youth baseball regional meeting. The long waits at the airport passed by rather pleasently.

I loved Lennart Green's presentation on TED. What a master of the craft.
